<aside> 💡 Halu is an app designed to make donating used clothes easier and more impactful for the community. Users can simply scan or take pictures of their items, and our AI will match them with organizations that can benefit from these donations. These organizations include homeless shelters, women and children’s shelters, orphanages, and community groups like theaters, among others.
One standout feature of the app is My Aquarium, a visual representation of the environmental impact of fast fashion. The aquarium is filled with unhealthy fish and microplastics, symbolizing the current state of our oceans. Each time a user donates or accepts a donation, the health of the aquarium improves, showing that small actions can make a meaningful difference in protecting the environment.

Why I named it Halu & the story behind the branding
Halu is the combination from all the first letters of ‘helping all around u’.
I chose this logo because it represents the sun or a halo, with the user at the center. The circle symbolizes the environment and community around them, and I want their act of kindness and donation to be like a light that reaches out to people and communities.
I went for a modern and simple design, similar to apps like Depop and TikTok, to attract a younger audience. My target users are teens and young adults, starting from age 16. I also chose a warm, earthy color palette to give the app an inviting, eco-friendly vibe

🛒 Fast fashion’s impact on the environment & my problem solution
a unique feature that I included in this app is the My Aquarium feature. From having this feature, I want the users to be able to see how their action can have an impact to the water & marine life in it. They will start with a bad & unhealthy aquarium filled with sick fishes and plastic floating around the water and after they start donating and receiving donations, their aquarium’s health level will rise. They will also get to name the fishes inside the aquarium so users can have that sense of responsibility and ownership to these marine life.
